Beethoven – Für Elise | Classical Piano

The wonderful and famous piano piece Für Elise is a solo piano piece that Beethoven composed between 1808 and 1822. This piano piece belongs to the musical style called bagatelle or a piano composition that has a short duration.

I certainly believe all pianists and piano students know the complete work, but most people only remember the initial theme. In its A section we have a melody in the right hand and it is accompanied by arpeggios in the left hand, section B introduces several arpeggios that play faster on the piano and section C has a pedal work in the bass of the left hand on the piano and multiple chords in the right hand. All Sections perfectly match the initial theme in A minor. Hope you enjoy listening to this famous work by Beethoven, enjoy!

Beethoven – Für Elise

Who was Elise?

Beethoven was involved with many women throughout his life. However, it is believed that the famous piano piece “Für Elise” was dedicated to the great love of his life whom he planned to marry.

The young Therese Malfatti (1792-1851), an Austrian singer, was a student of Beethoven, unfortunately the marriage did not materialize, this would have upset the great German composer, so he added that more complicated part that only pianists know.

Für Elise is one of the greatest piano pieces of all time, a must-have masterpiece in every pianist’s repertoire and a guaranteed hit for listeners.
