The Piano Sonata No.14 Opus 27 No.2 (Moonlight Sonata)

Movement 1: Adagio sostenuto
Movement 2: Allegretto
Movement 3: Presto agitato

Composer: Ludwig van Beethoven
Pianist: Valentina Lisitsa

Beethoven was once very much in love with a blind girl. One evening, they were walking outside. It was a warm summer night, and the sky was completely clear. They stood at the shore of a lake. The moon shined brightly and its reflection on the lake seemed like it was dancing.

The girl asked Beethoven what the moon looks like. Unable to answer the question, he wrote this piece. He played it for her. The girl started smiling, and a single tear of joy rolled down her cheek. “The moon is beautiful.” she said.
